Whole blood from healthy pigs of mixed breed, either sex and fasted at the time of slaughter is collected in one part 2.5% di-sodium EDTA to 9 parts blood. The plasma is separated from blood's cellular components by centrifugation, processed within 24 hours and frozen at -20°C. The product is obtained from USDA or state inspected facilities.
