Whole blood is collected from young healthy rabbits (New Zealand White, 8–12 weeks of age, either sex, and fasted) at the time of slaughter, and diluted at 2.5 mL K2EDTA then QS to 250 mL with blood. The blood is centrifuged. The plasma is pooled, bottled and frozen at or below -10?C. The plasma is then thawed, filtered through cheesecloth, aliquotted into 3 mL vials and lyophilized. The product is then stoppered, boxed, sealed, and stored at or below -10?C prior to shipment.
