Whole blood from young healthy rabbits (Oryctolagus cuniculus) Breeds: New Zealand White and/or California White that are 8?12 weeks of age, either sex and fasted at the time of slaughter, is combined with 25 mL 2.5% Sodium EDTA then QS to 250mL with blood. The plasma is separated from the blood cellular components by centrifugation. The plasma is pooled, passed through a 0.22 micron filter, bottled and stored at or below -10 °C.
