Fresh frozen pituitary glands are obtained from healthy bovine animals. The pituitaries are extracted using a saline extraction, the extract is filtered through a 0.2 micron filter, which remains at or below +5°C throughout the procedure until the product is frozen for storage. The tissue was sourced from a USDA certified facility within the contiguous 48 states of the United States where the animals received ante- and post-mortem inspection and were found free of contagious diseases.
