Other Notes
Small volumes of anti-NRL antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.
Related Product Information for
anti-NRL antibody
Function: Acts as a transcriptional activator which regulates the expression of several rod-specific genes, including RHO and PDE6B (PubMed:21981118). Functions also as a transcriptional coactivator, stimulating transcription mediated by the transcription factor CRX and NR2E3 (PubMed:17335001). Binds in a sequence-specific manner to the rhodopsin promoter (PubMed:17335001).
Subunit Structure: Interacts with FIZ1; this interaction represses transactivation (By similarity). Interacts (via the leucine-zipper domain) with CRX (PubMed:10887186).
Post-translational Modifications: Phosphorylated (PubMed:11477108, PubMed:17335001).Disumoylated at Lys-20. Sumoylation modulates the transcriptional activity of NRL on RHO and NR2E3 promoters, and is required for normal rod differentiation (By similarity).
Similarity: The minimal transactivation domain (MTD) is conserved across the MAF family, it may activate transcription by recruiting TBP and associated factors at the promoters of target genes. Belongs to the bZIP family.
Applications Tested/Suitable for anti-NRL antibody
Western Blot (WB), Immunofluorescence (IF), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), ELISA (EIA)
Application Notes for anti-NRL antibody
WB: 1:500-1:1000
IF/ICC: 1:100-1:500
Western Blot (WB) of anti-NRL antibody
Western blot analysis of extracts from 293 cells, using NRL antibody.

Immunofluorescene (IF) of anti-NRL antibody
MBS9605680 staining 293 cells by IF/ICC. The sample were fixed with PFA and permeabilized in 0.1% Triton X-100, then blocked in 10% serum for 45 minutes at 25 degree C. The primary antibody was diluted at 1/200 and incubated with the sample for 1 hour at 37 degree C. An Alexa Fluor 594 conjugated goat anti-rabbit IgG (H+L) antibody, diluted at 1/600, was used as secondary antibody.

NCBI Summary for NRL
This gene encodes a basic motif-leucine zipper transcription factor of the Maf subfamily. The encoded protein is conserved among vertebrates and is a critical intrinsic regulator of photoceptor development and function. Mutations in this gene have been associated with retinitis pigmentosa and retinal degenerative diseases. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
