This TALDO1 antibody is generated from rabbits immunized with a KLH conjugated synthetic peptide between 186-215 amino acids from the Central region of human TALDO1.

Purified Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody (Pab)

Purified polyclonal antibody supplied in PBS with 0.09% (W/V) sodium azide. This antibody is prepared by Saturated Ammonium Sulfate (SAS) precipitation followed by dialysis against PBS.

Vial Concentration: 2 (lot specific)

Maintain refrigerated at 2-8 degree C for up to 6 months. For long term storage store at -20 degree C in small aliquots to prevent freeze-thaw cycles.

If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Transaldolase 1 is a key enzyme of the nonoxidative pentose phosphate pathway providing ribose-5-phosphate for nucleic acid synthesis and NADPH for lipid biosynthesis. This pathway can also maintain glutathione at a reduced state and thus protect sulfhydryl groups and cellular integrity from oxygen radicals.

Western blot analysis of TALDO1 antibody (Center) in A375 cell line lysates (35ug/lane). TALDO1 (arrow) was detected using the purified Pab.

Formalin-fixed and paraffin-embedded human lung carcinoma reacted with TALDO1 Antibody (Center), which was peroxidase-conjugated to the secondary antibody, followed by DAB staining. This data demonstrates the use of this antibody for immunohistochemistry; clinical relevance has not been evaluated.

Transaldolase 1 is a key enzyme of the nonoxidative pentose phosphate pathway providing ribose-5-phosphate for nucleic acid synthesis and NADPH for lipid biosynthesis. The functional gene of transaldolase 1 is located on chromosome 11 and a pseudogene is identified on chromosome 1 but there are conflicting map locations. The second and third exon of this gene were developed by insertion of a retrotransposable element. This gene is thought to be involved in multiple sclerosis. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

TALDO1: Transaldolase is important for the balance of metabolites in the pentose-phosphate pathway. Defects in TALDO1 are the cause of transaldolase 1 deficiency (TALDO1 deficiency). It results in telangiectases of the skin, hepatosplenomegaly, and enlarged clitoris. Belongs to the transaldolase family. Type 1 subfamily.
