BTLA recombinant protein
Description: BTLA produced in Sf9 Insect cells is a single, glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 136 amino acids (31-157 a.a.) and having a molecular mass of 15.7kDa (Molecular size on SDS-PAGE will appear at approximately 18-28kDa). BTLA is expressed with an 9 amino acid His tag at C-Terminus and purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
Introduction: NECTIN3, also known as Nectin Cell Adhesion Molecule 3, is part of the nectin family. NECTIN3 is intended to initiate cell-cell adhesion to stimulate cell attachment and to allow subsequent formation of JAM-and cadherin-based intercellular junctions. NECTIN3 induces endocytosis-mediated down-regulation of PVR from the cell surface, which results in reduction of cell movement & proliferation. Following Nectin-3 activity adds strength to the junction through trans-interaction with various molecules. .

NCBI Summary for BTLA
This gene encodes a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily. The encoded protein contains a single immunoglobulin (Ig) domain and is a receptor that relays inhibitory signals to suppress the immune response. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. Polymorphisms in this gene have been associated with an increased risk of rheumatoid arthritis. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2011]
UniProt Comments for BTLA
Lymphocyte inhibitory receptor which inhibits lymphocytes during immune response.
Research Articles on BTLA
1. The percentage of circulating BTLA+CD4+ lymphocytes was significantly higher in patients with severe community acquired pneumonia.
